Thompson on 2nd Amendment

I love this. From Jawa Report, another Fred Head. About the meaning of the 2nd Amendment beyond the right to bare arms.

On the subject of Fred, go to www.pollingreport.com. I think the media blackout on Thompson, other than to mention from time to time that his campaign is faltering and he has no support, and is lazy is about one of th biggest cases of media malpractice I have ever witnessed. Look at the polls. Thompson is almost always second or third, usually a strong second or within the margin of error for 3rd. I mean he really is a strong candidate, with plenty of support. For those of you on the right who are undecided, think about this, they tried to make Reagan out as a clown candidate as well. If the media flat out lies about his support (while focusing so much on the floundering Ron Paul campaign) then that is a great indication he is the biggest threat to the liberal media. That alone should tell you he is the right guy.

He is a consistent 2nd Amendment supporter, that means a lot to me.

UPDATE: Since some people (I call them liberals) wont take 5 minutes to do the research even when I provide a link (bloody morons), here are excerpts. These are the polls. I copied the first 2,3, or 4 polling periods from the lists becuase that was easiest (it is Thanksgiving and I have better things to do than fix moronic liberal brains). Yellow blocks are Thompson in second. As you can easily see, most recent polls have him in second or third, though still needs to catch Rudy.

Happy Thanksgiving

I want to take a moment to wish all a happy Thanksgiving. I especially want to acknowledge our brave men and women in uniform in Iraq and Afghanistan. Right now they might be:

sitting in observation posts

getting up at four in the morning to light the stoves for Thanksgiving meals for the troops

crawling out of bed even on this day to jog several miles

sitting in the hatch of an armored vehicle right now looking for the next attack

lying in a bed, recovering from horrible wounds

planning, preparing for the next operation, and the next, and the next

calling loved ones or writing emails home

taking care of their equipment, preventive maintenance, grease and dirt falling in their eyes

resting in peace having made the ultimate, honorable sacrifice so that we can raise our children, educate them, conduct our commerce to improve our lives, and spread the blessings of liberty which will always triumph over extremism, no matter how long it takes. Our own best, strongest, brightest and bravest will continue to sacrifice to make the world a better place. For that I am thankful.

I thank them and all the wonderful families that support them.

All this news reporting about parts of Afghanistan being taken over by the Taliban and they usually forgets to report when it is taken back a few days later, but here is one they reported.

When I origninally posted on this I didn't catch that the Boy Scouts were collecting items for care packages for the troops. It was bad enough without that element. Now....traitors. These people have betrayed those who protect our freedoms and should be treated as traitors.

There was a day when people like Marsha Weinerman would swing from a noose for being traitors.

Keeping tabs on Pakistan

It looks like Musharraf has begun a major offensive against al qaeda and sympathetic Taliban. Now we wait to see how effective they will be or if they will get stomped.

At the same time, it appears very much like Musharraf has blown his burgeoning alliance with Bhutto. Considering she helped create the Taliban (even though it was arm twisting on the part of the ISI that led her to it) it may not be a bad thing. It would be great if she took the obvious route, and supported Musharraf long enough to push back the Islamic militants, but I just don't think she is quite strong enough.

I wait to see if Fazlur Rahman will turn his Taliban followers against al Qaeda and their Taliban cohorts in active fighting, or if they will help Musharraf by simply sitting it out and let the army take the hit.
