Off of Drudge
We're not "not winning."
We've lost.
So declares Bush critic Frank Rich in Sunday runs of the NEW YORK TIMES.
MORE
Taking it all the way, this time, Rich writes: "The actual reality is that we have lost in Iraq."
"The Iraq-Vietnam parallels at this juncture are striking," Rich explains, in an op-ed he has titled: "THE SUNSHINE BOYS CAN'T SAVE IRAQ."
Rich declares: "As bad as things may seem now, they can yet become worse, and not just in Iraq.
"The longer we pretend that we have not lost there, the more we risk losing other wars we still may salvage, starting with Afghanistan."
RR: But do the people who think of Frank Rich as some kind of policy expert even know his history?
Read it here NYT:
From 2003-2005, Mr. Rich had been the front page columnist for the Sunday Arts & Leisure section as part of that section's redesign and expansion. He also serves as senior adviser to The Times's culture editor on the paper's overall cultural news report.
Art, leisure and culture? Why the hell does anybody care what this guy thinks?
Mr. Rich has been at the paper since 1980, when he was named chief theater critic.
Mother f%#$ing theater critic? Passing judgement on military issues and the President of the United States? That's the best the NYT's can come up with? And they matter why?
