So is this what the New York Times doesn't want you to see?

As I mentioned in a previous post, a couple of weeks ago we (including translator Sammi) found a nuclear related document at the FMSO site which I would link for you but it is down now.

The document is from 1999. It is a request from Iraqs nuclear group to procure tritium and deuterium for a neutron generator. I began by researching what a neutron generator is used for. It is involved in nuclear weapons technology and has commercial and research applications. According to the UN prohibited items list it is banned in certain configurations.

The document contains specifications as to what fusion material is needed and in what form. I believe a nuclear expert may be able to determine in what field this neutron generator would be used.

I contacted a scientist at a nuclear lab about two weeks ago and am waiting for a response. Considering the NYTs article, I doubt he will respond. I then contacted a former high level official of the IAEA by email. I notified this official of some interesting nuclear related docs on the website.  Again, I heard nothing back. Therefore I can not say if it was this official who went to the NYTs. So I won't name him publicly. But it is an interesting coincidence.

That being said, since I doubt I will every be able to find a US government or IAEA official to  analyze this document and the potential use of this neutron generator, and since I can not proceed with an analysis without it, I present it here in case there is an expert willing to weigh in.

1) Ionic source type             Duopls Nutron Ion Source/DPS

2) Targets for the neutron reactor (Tritium Target) of a diameter of 49 mm, of a round metallic shape

3) Deuterium gas of 99% concentrate and in 5 kgs container each.

Please review and inform us about the possibility of importing since the materials are under the annex number 3 of the monitoring plan, and the necessary measures to be taken.
