Ap reporter Bilal Hussein to trial soon

Michelle Malkin has an article about Bilal Hussein today.

There are currently two "journalists" detained by the US government for cavorting with terrorists. We hear about the Bilal story quite a bit. But the other one is less talked about. He is Sami al Hajj who reported for al Jazeera from Afghanistan during the initial invasion in 2001.

The same "civil rights activists" who are the source of the outcry over Hussein also seek freedom for Hajj. It is important to keep the details in mind of his detention at Gitmo.  That's good to know in assessing the judgment of these activists about the intentions of these detainees.

Let's look a the detainee specifics for Hajj. Summary of evidence:

1.

During the period 1996-2001, the detainee traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, Balkans, and the former USSR, arriving in Afghanistan in October 2001.

2.

The detainee admitted to transporting large amounts of cash from the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) to Azerbainan on multiple occasions from 1996-2000.

3.

From 1997 through 2000, the detainee was responsible for financial and material aid for Chechen armed groups and foreign mercenaries operating in the Northern Caucausus.

4.

The detainee provided assistance, obtaining travel/immigration documents, for an Iraqi businessman moving to the U.A.E.

5.

The above Iraqi businessman is reportedly close to Usama Bin Laden.

6.

Prior to 11 September 2001, the detainee arranged for the transport of a Stinger anti-aircraft system from Afghanistn to Chechnya.

7.

Since 2000, the detainee has engaged in distributing terrorist propaganda over the internet.

8.

While attempting to re-enter Afghanistan in December 2001, the detainee was apprehended by Pakistani authorities for inconsistencies with his travel documents.

Sami al Hajj was supporting al Qaeda and others in Chechnya. Then in about 2000, he was denied entrance to the region and was no longer able to bring funds to the Islamic terrorists there.

So what is a terrorist who knows the principle jihadis supposed to do when he can't get in because his paper work is faked? Find a credible way in, of course.

Thus, we next see Sami, who has no journalistic experience all of the sudden becoming a al-Jazeera reporter.

Why would they hire a guy with zero experience to be a "cameraman" in Chenchya?

He had the contacts to interview the terrorists because he was one. Al-jazeera got him access to complete his mission under cover of the press and he got to bring them their paychecks.

So when the US invaded Afghanistan just weeks after he began his mission, he was redirected to Afghanistan by al-Jazeera where he got interviews with Taliban leaders.

Why did have access to these leaders? Because he was al Qaeda of course.

He was hired because he was a terrorist and had the connections to get the big interviews and he got the PRESS card of al-Jazeera.

And these same activists scream that this guy is pure as the driven snow and it is all a big plot by the government to make a case against al-Jazeera. Well al-Jazeera DID hire a terrorist.

Think about that when you listen to them cry about the mistreatment of Bilal Hussein.
